In class lessons

The two specific that were discussed in class which I felt were very important to me were sexual assault and drinking.
There were some interesting points that were given in case you’re self or someone you know has been involved in a sexual assault. The first one was to seek help. You can get help on campus. You can also seek any of the church leaders to talk to, and please note that anything that is discussed will be kept confidential unless you are under the age of 18. There are 24 hour services available on campus to discuss any type of situations. If you don’t feel comfortable discussing your situation to anyone on campus, you can be referred to someone that can help you off campus. Same goes for any drinking incidents that come up in your life.
It was mentioned that drinking is everywhere in this world, and believe or not it happens at Azusa Pacific University. There are situations were students can get themselves up because they are so drunk. If this happens you should always help them, never let them past you by. You never know, you could be the one that saved their life from something bad happening in the future. If you have any drinking problems or addictions, again there are services on campus that can help you, advise you, and guide you.

Blog #2 3 tangible ways that I can use my strengths…

There are so many strengths in my life that I can use to make my time at Azusa Pacific University more worth while, but if I had a choice of only choosing three, it would be achiever, self-assurance, and competition.

Through being an achiever at APU as one of my best strength's that will keep me successful in life. There are so many things I want to accomplish while being here, such as getting my Bachelors Degree in Business Finance, having a great football season, and gaining as much knowledge as possible in a Business environment. I definitely know being an achiever will keep me busy at APU.

Self-assurance will help me be as confident as I can possibly be. This will help me overcome any obstacle that I may approach while attending APU. The fact that having a mind set of "I know I can do it", will keep me striving for more and for the best.

Competition, I think is my biggest strength. I always try to strive to be the best that I can be in any type of situation or game etc. It has made me grow maturely and spiritually. It is what keeps me going through the day.

Why do you think it is so difficult for you to understand what you do well?

I beleive it is hard to understand what you do well in because everyone around you is constanly asking questions of what your not good at. So really you dont get a chance to really think about what your good at in life.

There are so many things that I do well in my life such as sports, playing the piano, free style art etc... But I do know I am still good at alot different things as well. It is just hard to remember because I am not constanly reminded of it on an everyday basis or normal conversations.

I belevie that if you think only about the things your good at, and not focus on anything negative, just in general. You can train your mind to think aobut good things at an instant.
